3 towers , each is avg 1000 kh/s
1 = psu 1050w / 280x /6950 , 3 fans ( 140s) i3 cpu
2 = 900w / 280x / 6950 , 2 fans (120s) i5 cpu (1 core running @ 1600mhz)
3 = 1250w / 2x 780Ti , 6fans ( FT02 = 4 , cpu has 2 140s) , i5 stock

im thinking each gpu is pulling around 250w , what you guys say ?

780Ti's might be less , both cards running at 550MHZ avg 530kh/s each , this is on an ups and its telling me the pc is using 600w.

am i breaking even , ahead of power consumption , or doing bad ?

Why not buy a kill-a-watt meter for $17-$20 and then you'll know your usage.

THe 1050 is enough for THREE 280x's or maybe 6 6950's have the cards matching in the machines as much as possible

Just to throw it into the hat, Belkin just came out with their Insight Conserv meter which packs some nifty features. It's $25 on AMZ, but worth it for not having to always bend down to read the thing.

If you run something for 40 minutes, it'll spit out estimates of your costs for you. For the people who don't like math.

Btw, I have two rigs that are running 5x AX7850 (2100 Kh/s per rig), they pull at the wall about 890watts each. Powered by a single 850w 91% efficiency PSU. I'd assume going off that, each card is doing about 130-140w as the PSU doesn't seem to get very hot.

i tried the 280x together in same case , not good , top card gets roasted , looks like the 6950s handle it better : 280x = 74c on bottom , 6950 = 75-77c on top . till i get some risers and crates.

Undervolting is key for mining.

A 280x will pull 275w easily at stock voltage. Lowering the voltage .1v can drop you 50w and 10c temps.

My 280x ran 275w and 76c, but it was 1.18v stock. I can run 1.037v at 1020 core clock and it only pulls 210w and runs 63c now.

@87dtna, what Khash per day-range are you getting (scrypt) with 280x?
(am considering buying cards either 280x, 7950 or R9 290, all Sapphire Dual-X or Tri-X as that what i can get here for a good price, and im looking now mostly at khash/watt)

I have a visiontek, which is going to be similar to the sapphire (same VRM setup). At the 1020/1500 clocks I'm getting 685kh. 8192 TC, 2 thread,13 intensity, 256 worksize.

7950's or 280's are the way to go....if you get a 7950 with a 7970 PCB (6+8 pin connector). Later 7950's have much higher voltage (2x 6 pin connectors), they run hotter and consume more power. With my 7950, I'm able to pull 660 kH at 1100/1500 clocks and it only uses 200w. 21712 TC, 20 intensity, 1 thread, 256 worksize.
