mobo = asus m2n-mx se = $56
ram = ocz plat rev.2 2x1024 = $100 ($65 after rebate)
cpu = amd64 x2 5200+ 2.6ghz 2x1mbL2 = $137
gfx = XFX 8800GTS 320mb = $308
psu = powerup 550w = $49
case = powerup ak-18 = $31

this is way more then midrange without robbing a bank

When do you plan on upgrading that CPU next? If you don't plan on upgrading it for a while, then I guess that board is fine. Its old, but it'll work.

I have no clue about that PSU. You're shopping at TD? Did you check out ncix.com instead?

i dont. I plan on keeping the system for a few good years. yeah, most parts are from tigerdirect.ca, gonna pick them up locally tomorrow. unless you can recommend a mobo (cheap) pref. ASUS especially with 2 ide ports, cause i dont wanna switch to sata just yet (extra spending atm) which i cant afford.
