I'm planning on upgrading my monitor some time this week, but I'm not really sure what I should get. I have a $100 gift card to Best Buy so I want to use that. I'm mainly looking for a 23 inch monitor. And I'd like to spend less than $350.

I'm looking at the Samsung PX2370 and the Dell STB2310.

No real reasoning behind both of them other than the fact that I've had a Samsung 712N that I've been using for the past 6 years and has been great and I've also heard that Dell makes some of the best monitors available. It will primarily be used for gaming and watching video in case one is better than the other.

Keep in mind most Dell recommendations are for their IPS monitors (and PVA when they used to use those). I honestly never even hear much about their TNs (not counting the Alienwares).

The Samsung PX2370 is overpriced and can only be called an ok monitor.

Check out the Acer G245H, it's only 250$ from New Egg/Walmart


Reviewed and compared to the Samsung PX2370 so you can see with your own eyes that the Acer has better image quality:
