My PC auto connects to my wireless router even though its hard wired directly from my PC to the router. When I disable my wireless adapter on my PC via device manager, and begin to search for another network, it cannot find anything. My PC does not recognize the hard wired connection. Other devices (another PC and my PS3) are hard wired to the same router and are working fine, but this PC isn't. Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this? I'm starting to think the ethernet cable is physically damaged, but I cannot see any damage to it. I can't think of what else to do?

Make sure the ethernet port is enabled and getting an IP address.

Try a different cable.

You should have just posted this in your previous thread :)

I don't understand why it would search for another network unless you have two wireless adapters or you're not disabling it correctly? Either bad cable, driver not installed, bad device or if you're using a pci or pci express card, it may not be seated correctly?

Screen shots of device manager might help?
