At my job I will be interning in my spare time with the security unit. What are some good books to help me?

I will be dealing with setting up firewalls and penetration testing.

I was given "Building Internet Firewalls" to read, but it seem that book is really outdated.

Open to suggestions on books, guides, sites, etc.

here are a few that i can suggest

i would say it mainly depends on the type of stuff you will be working with. i think Snort 2.1 SE is a great book, but if you don't use sonrt then it's pretty useless to you. also, it's not a general security book. i would suggest taking the security essentials or perhaps firewall and VPN course with SANS.org if you can. they have study at home courses too if there's none in your area anytime soon.

A couple more books:

Practical Cryptography by Bruce Schneier <sp?>

The Cuckoo's Egg - Cliff Stoll

Not really pen-testing and firewall audit books, but just good security books in general. The Cuckoo's Egg is a damn good read too.
