Need help keeping wireless connection active

OK here's the issue.
We have a wireless network that runs on Cisco equipment. Anyone can see the network, but you have to have a user/pass to log in and do anything.

All of that works, the problem is that if you don't use IE for 15 minutes you have to log back in. Any other network traffic will not keep the connection time alive, like Outlook or iTunes ect.
So, I've tried having a batch file run every 10 minutes to ping websites to keep it active, but that doesn't work. I've tried several "keep alive" programs and those do not work.

I'm waiting on our Cisco guy to call back, but it's been a week and I'm out of ideas.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
