Mobile Broadband USB

Can you guys please provide me with some recomendations on a broadband USB modem for my laptop?

I'd like to use it on an Acer Aspire One as well as a Dell. So the card would have to be able to be interchangeable on either depending on which I am using.

Just some thought on which has the best coverage and best speed please?

You might want to look for one that has a connector for an external antenna. When I was using my EVDO USB modem, I found that an aftermarket "booster" antenna increased my SNR - though I had a good enough signal that I didn't see a speed increase over the internal antenna.

What I did is obtain this USB to expresscard adapter, which allows any expresscard to be used via USB:

That way you can have a more diverse choice in what 3G devices you can use.

I just purchased the AT&T Mercury. It is a USB device and even has a micro memory slot so you can use it as a memory stick. The 3G speeds are just a little slower than DSL it works on multiple computers. The software is on the USB device. I use a Ovation u727 through Sprint. Pretty solid service, got on one of their promotional cheap plans. In a Revision A area the ping in TF2 is usually only around 120, so very usable service all around.

Comes with drivers built in so that I can get any computer online without hassle and the mini-sd card reader is great considering my phone also uses mini-sd cards.
