kinda pointless...answer is it needs direct air flow/cooling. GPU fan, CPU fan, Case fan or a AIC heatsink. That up right slot is a good spot if you have a air cooled CPU.
If the SSD isn't by an occupied PCI-E slot, users could fashion some kind of heatsink to the SSD and it would likely make a big difference if there is enough ambient air flow in their case.
