Hey guys. For consistency sake, I will fill out the form from the sticky, despite having a build already in mind. I just like to get outside perspective on my builds since I'm really good at rationalizing bad purchase decisions to myself. I only build a new rig once every 2-2.5 years so I like to get it right.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Just about everything. Gaming, both in graphically intense and not-so-intense games. Developing (C#/Java mostly), and all the typical web crap. I also do a fair bit of video editing and gameplay video recording. (Being able to do this without my system thrashing too badly is important.)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Trying to keep it a good bit under $2000. $1600 or $1700 would be fine, including Tax and Shipping

3) Where do you live?
US. Washington State.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, PSU, Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Video, Sound, DVD-RW, Hard Drive, Keyboard, Mouse, CPU Cooler.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Nothing.

6) Will you be overclocking?
I want to push the CPU as close to 4.0 as I can get to reach the point of diminishing returns.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
24" 1920x1200, and I may go bigger next year.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Between now and the end of August.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
No specific needs other than SLI. Preferably at x16/x16, though I've read that the performance drop at x8/x8 is minimal.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
I've got Windows handled.

My Current Draft

Corsair 600T ~$149.99 (Out in late August, apparently.)
XFX Black Edition 750W + G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600$239.98
Asus P6X58D-E + Intel Core i7-930 $494.99
EVGA GTX 460 768MB Stock Clock x2 $399.98
Noctua NH-D14 $89.99
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM $74.99
Lite-On 24X SATA DVDRW iHAS124-04 $19.99
Logitech G110 $69.99
Logitech G500 $59.99

Total: $~1650 shipped + Miscellaneous stuff like cable ties or thermal paste.

UPDATE:
Took into account some of the suggestions given here, and things are a bit more sane now. Thanks guys. If anyone sees any other tweaks, let me know.

You can currently get the corsiar 700d at tigerdirect for about 181+a 30ish dollar cashback

can also get those 470s i think on tigerdirect with BCB

The ASUS P6X58D-E is 10$ cheaper and has all the features of the EVGA board (USB 3.0 6gb/s SATA 3 x16 slots [16x 16x 1x bandwidth or 16x 8x 8x].
The GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R is similar and only 209$

You should remember the little extras too. Youll probably need a few sundries like fans, thermal paste etc.

You can shave off an $80 with this RAM and PSU combo:
$240 - G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM + XFX Black Edition P1-750B-CAG9 750W PSU

You're not gonna notice an iota of performance difference between the G.Skill set and Corsair set in real world apps and games. So save some cash there. In addition, the XFX 750W PSU is actually of better quality than the Corsair.

If you go with the Gigabyte mobo that DeathPrincess linked to, there's a combo deal that shaves off another $16:
$485 - Intel Core i7-930 CPU + Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R X58 ATX Motherboard Combo

You can shave off another $20 by going with this equally fast 1TB drive:
$75 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Once you factor in shipping, this DVD burner is actually $14 cheaper than the DVD burner you chose:
$20 - LG iHAS124-04 DVD Burner

So if you go with the above changes, that's $170 total in savings with little to no performance difference. You also get a better PSU as well. Do note however that the above combo deals will disappear at the end of July.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've updated my build and the price is more in the range of sanity. If anyone sees anything else, I'd consider those suggestions as well!

I would go with the Corsair H50 over that Noctua Cooler, also about $15 cheaper. Are you completely set on the 600T?

Yeah I was just considering the H50, though I think I might need to pick up a pair of fans for push/pull, so the cost may not be any cheaper.

Regarding the 600T, I'm not totally locked into it, but it does seem like a hell of a case for $150. If there's something cheaper with the same or better air cooling options, I am all ears.

Hey, when you mentioned going bigger on the monitor, are you considering like a higher res monitor like a 30"?

Not much if any 27" lcds with 1920x1200 res. Most of the monitors at 27" are 1920x1080 res. They have the Hannspree 28" with 1920x1200 TN monitor.

I was talking more like 2560 x 1440 of the Dell 2711. If I went up from my 24" 1920x1200 I'd definitely get a higher resolution as well.
