he doesnt need much, probably looking to spend $50-100. a core2duo/phenom ii x2 up to an i3 or so is probably the range we are looking for. most important thing is going to be VALUE, or performance/price, not raw power. motherboard will need integrated graphics unless you make an offer with a cheap gpu bundled. thanks!

EDIT: please post any offers here so i can keep track of them all in one place instead of in like 20 private messages. also will allow him to get on and see the offers.

I have a Biostar A880GZ AM3+ brand new. I just received this board yesterday and posted it. It would also include an AMD FX-6100 3.3ghz 6 core processor.

Would include a stock AMD heat pipe CPU cooler.

The motherboard has the AMD HD4200 graphics chipset. Has Dsub, DVI, and HDMI video ports.

$150 shipped via USPS Priority Insured with tracking. Could also add 2@2gb Crucial Ballistix memory for $30 additional.

how bout an mitx board, intel dq45ex with e3300? or asus amd m4a77td w/ x3 720 unlocked fourth core? intel board-ddr2 memory asus board-ddr3 memory

I've got a Q6600 Core 2 Quad, Gigabyte Mobo (I think like P35-DS3L or something), and 4GB of OCZ Gold (I think) RAM (DDR2 800). They need cleaned up. I'd let the whole combo go for like $125ish (negotiable). I can throw in the HSF I have on it too for the $125 price (Thermalright Ultima-90 I believe?)

Shoot me a PM and I can have it cleaned up and shipped. Might take me a couple of days since I need to get packing materials and so forth and I'm working OT right now.

I also have Heat.

Since my first combo was above your friends budget, I do have a Phenom II 555 that unlocks to quad core and a Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AM3 motherboard.

Would do a flat $100 shipped for the combo. ;)

It is an HP/Compaq
Chassis: CQ5320Y
Mobo: M2N68-LA

Athlon II X2 240
3GB RAM
had a 500GB hard drive that got re-purposed. If you are interested in a trade, we can work something out. It currently has a 60GB or 80GB 2.5" 5400rpm drive in it.
The HP/Compaq case (which includes an OEM Win7 code)

Let me know.

I'm thinking $100+shipping in the case, or $80 shipped without case. What do you think? I am open to negotiations also, as those prices aren't set in stone.

yeah little too much and dont need a case so shipping would kill that deal. already bought something anyway. thanks for your offer.
