i think i am looking for a 7970 or better, but not interested in a card used for mining. price range for a 7970-290X or nvidia equivalent is $150-250. i am on a 450W psu so anything that uses too much more power than that won't work for me. green or red team is fine. pm me what you got. shipping will be to hawaii, 96744. i have heat under ekuest but havent been active in fs/ft in a while. thanks!

290x for $250? Let me know when you find someone wanting to sell one of those that hasn't been mined on for that price! I'll gladly take a card at that price off their hands if they have multiples :D

You think WRONG.

Anything as or more powerful than a 7970 is going to require at least a 600 watt PSU. The R9 270 series recommends a 500 watt PSU.

everyone knows those recommendations are way overrated. psu calculator gives me 352W with my current setup, 376W with a 7970, and 417 with a 280x. that's recommended, not minimum. and the silverstone i have has been proven to perform well right up to its max and even a little past it. i do plan on upgrading to the 600W sfx when it's available here, and then the 450W will go in my htpc, just so i have a bit more headroom for overclocking.

and prowler, yeah i saw one for $260 shipped but it went immediately of course. im not really looking for a 290x though, more of a 7970/280/280X/290 or equivalent. if someone offered me a 290X for that price i wouldnt say no though.
