Okay this is for my secondary rig.. And I'm looking for a good stable 350-400w powersupply (going to do some hefty overclocking on a P4 1.8a Rdram Asus motherboard) . plus a good case with it to boot..

But I'm kinda short on the $$..
soooo...... what Case+PSU can I get for $40-$50?? :D

I can't think of a single <$50 case+PSU combo that doesn't have a crap PSU. You might want to check the newegg refurbs or something like that to find a deal.

You can get PSU's cheap on ebay, and probably a case for free at a fry's thanksgiving day sale. But that would be quite a wait. =)

A <$50 case with a quality 350-400w psu is a tall order to fill but here goes nothing :)

An Enlight case with an absolute minimum of 300watt psu included. If you scroll down the list, you'll see the Enlight cases with the 360w psu which would suit oc'ing much better: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...g=7&manufactory=1231&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1

Aopen cases typically carry rebadged Fortrons of varying degrees of quality:

Some of the $40 Athenatech cases come with Sparkle/Fortron psu's:

Inwin cases supposedly use rebadged Fortrons and speaking from experience they do seem like high quality:

I would take a 300w Fortron/Sparkle psu over a generic 400-500w any day of the week. Those generics are all falsely labeled 300 watters anyway whereas Fortron 300watters are actually more like 350-400 watts. Another decent idea would be to buy a Sparkle "FSP" 350w and throw it into any $20 generic atx case from pricewatch.

If you could find another $10 in your sofa or something you could get a decent Antec (newegg.com) that would fit your needs well.

(edit: doh, $15 shipping heh... well maybe an extra $25 then :))

After all the searching and all that waste of time! I finally found it:

tell me what you guys think about it
I'm doubting the powersupply, it does have its problems..the case is decent enough for its price (you can get it for about $60 bucks now).. Tell me what you think about the powersupply. can it handle a Pentium4a 2.4 + asus mobo + radeon 9500 etc?

It a generic, and it only has 16A peak on the +12V
run your computer out of a cardboard box with a good PSU until your able to afford a case
you cant afford a cheap PSU

i really wouldn't go with a cheap PSU as it could hinder your overclock.

SJetski71 has some good links, i'd check them out.

Daamn powersupply turned out to be a dud huh?
Looks like I'm gonna have to settle with a good powersupply.. and use that old gateway case for my pc...
