long distant wifi help

i'm trying to network to houses together using wifi, the approximate distant is about 400-450ft between the 2.. i recently bought the MIMO based linksys wifi router, along with the compatible notebook card in hopes it would work "off the shelf". It does make the distance but only at 25% signal and it drops every min or so.

does anyone know of a way to increase the range? or a router that would cover the distance better? i can't use a repeater because there is nothing in between the 2 houses but field and woods.

Get a directional antenna.

my problem is this is a MIMO router.. it has 3 antenna.. i have yet to find a product to handle it..

I would have to also recommend the directional antenna boosted up all the way that it can go from a non-MIMO linksys flashed with some different firmware. Might be the cheapest way to go.
