Not so much a "problem" as a horrid design choice.. They mangled the windowing system, so that now all explorer windows are the same size and display at arbitrary positions. Resizing one resizes all future windows, and position cannot be controlled.
I've been doing some stuff lately that involves using several windows of varying sizes, and it's proving to be quite a headache.
Been using it day in and day out since the public beta on my main system, ZERO issues.
I've also upgraded from Windows 7 RC. I figured there might be one or two differences in the retail, which is why I posted with regards to the retail copy.
The wake from sleep isn't such a big deal for me. Everything else runs smooth as a baby's bottom.
EDIT: Actually, I do have one more gripe, which is not really Microsoft's fault. There are no 64 bit drivers for my aging Logitech MX 518 mouse. Having to use the Windows mouse is alright, but even at the highest speed setting, I still have to lift my mouse off the pad as the cursor doesn't travel as far as I'd like.
Win 7 x64 Ultimate Signature edition with Kaspersky 2010 running. Action center shows I have Kaspersky present. System health report says I don't have one or it is not recognized. Unable to get a system rating. System health report says I have an inadequate CPU(C2Q6700), graphic card(GT8800), 4gb memory, 258 of 298gb free space. Needless to say I am not exactly happy about this as it is a drastic failure in regard to my previous Vista Ultimate install,

I didn't say that it was a "drastic failure", those are your words........it actually is running great and is much better then Vista ever did. I pointed it out that this was my only problem, and a very minor one at that. Its a "drastic failure" because you can't run that pointless test?
Pretty much the same. I was on the Beta and RC for pretty much the entire year so far, and that helped make this transition 100% painless. It feels the same except that the text on the lower-right corner is gone .

Just a FYI, I was getting the same errors also. I found that the culprit was Kaspersky not allowing WEI to run properly. I uninstalled KIS 2010 and WEI ran just fine, then reinstalled KIS 2010. So the issue is nothing to do with Win7 but rather Kaspersky. I would also suspect that the error of Kaspersky not being recognized is also a bug of the most current version of KIS 2010.
Just upgraded, install went fine, but I'm having issues with my display. On Vista I ran my HDMI through my receiver to the HDMI to the TV. I had no problems, now on 7 I lose the display anytime I switch through the inputs, or when the screen saver turns on. Any suggestions?
My only issue is with my Inspiron 9400 with an X1400 card. I'm having to use Vista video drivers, and whenever the laptop comes out of sleep mode, Windows thinks I have dual monitors and resets my resolution to 1024x768. I have to wait about 5 minutes and try to detect displays to fix it.
Besides that, everything is running beautifully.
Well it has been confirmed my issue is indeed related to Kaspersky. Thanks to Kilroy67 this is apparently a known issue with KIS 9 and they are "hopeful" it will be rectified. For anyone that was part of the Win 7 parties, Kaspersky included 1 year free KIS 9 licensing. Obviously they failed to properly test their software.
Just use MSE, forget Kapersky....
With the computer in my sig it seems that last night i put my pc to sleep for the first time. Woke up today to a very SLOW computer and it seemed like my secondary hard drive would not turn back on, after 5 restarts and powering off my pc it almost looked like my secondary hard drive was dead bios wasnt even detecting it. I took it out of my case then back in after trying another drive with v7100 on it and it booted so my pc was fine. Put it back in detected fine and booted fine NO CLUE what that was all about. Dont think ill be using sleep anymore
