Linux OS for Data Center Networking

It sounds like a great idea though they will be amongst a field of juggernauts. I predict it goes nowhere like most of what Dell does.

Dell has gone no where?...or things specifically?

Their storage line seems to be doing well, or was...

Plus the OS isn't a Dell thing, Dell is just providing compatible hardware. There are other vendors already providing hardware. It's just nice to see a company like Dell giving the OS a shot. Hopefully some other vendors come on board too.

This is funny, Dell doesn't make most of their own network gear. Its mostly quanta or acton. This gives them the ability to mark up someone else's hardware without having to engineer their own firmwares.

That being said, anyone who doesn't think Dell has done anything hasn't used Force10. They are absolutely fantastic switches.

ahhh, gosh... I wish I saw this as the future but just ehhhh...
