i have an old system here (233 16 megs ram 4gig hd ect) and was wondering what would be a very easy and very good lunix os to put on it, im new to lunix and i want to give it a shot, thanks for any help. :)

I've run both FreeBSD and OpenBSD on 486s with even less ram. Currently there's a P200 acting as a household server for my folks at their house using FreeBSD. In the next few months I'll be upgrading it to 5.2.1 and dropping a CMS called Mambo on it so they can have a pretty website of their own.

16MB of RAM is going to seriously limit what you can do on the box; running any GUI software (at least locally) is going to be painful, to say the least.

get zipslack. no X, but who needs X? only a 33meg zipfile, expands to around 90.
