I'm curious about the pros/cons of using an LCD TV as my computer monitor. The main specs of the two LCD TVs I'm considering are:

30" LCD TV
Viewable screen size 29.5" diagonal widescreen. Native/optimum resolution 1280 x 768
HDTV Ready - 480p, 1080i, 720p
PC - 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768, 1280x1024
Contrast ratio 500:1
Brightness 500 cd/m2
Viewing angle: 170 horizontal/170 vertical
Response time 16 ms

26" LCD TV
1280 x 768 Resolution
15/10ms Response Time
16:9 Widescreen
500:1 Contrast Ratio
HDTV:720P, 1080I
500 cd/m2 brightness

How would these TVs perform in games compared to the leading 23"/24" LCD monitors from HP, Samsung, Dell, etc.?

Thanks!

One reasone why I did not go this route is because the resolution on the LCD TV sucks.....They are okay in games, but in websurfing and general use like graphics, it sucks.....

Yeah, that's true. The lower resolution would help "future-proof" the graphics card for games, but there would be a serious trade-off in all other uses. Too bad, 'cuz the prices are so good on those TVs. I'll just wait on the Dell 2405. It's supposed to be released on Monday.
