My sony has a response time of 20ms, i notice some ghosting, this nec is the same price http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...pe=product&productCategoryId=cat01010&cmp= , my sony has a contrast ratio of 500:1 and this is only 400:1 but has a response time of 16ms. what should i do?

Go see them for yourself! Read some reviews on them! Personal preference as to what appeals to you.

i really dont know what contrast ratio is, how is 400:1 worse than 500:1

I just bought the NEC 1765 and it was worth every penny, even though it is only 17 inch. It's an analog, but the picture quality is 10 times better than any DVI I've seen.

there kinda saying a higher contrast ratio wont be noticable in things like power point and internet, but is noticable in dvd's and videos. do u think there would be any big notticable difference bettween 500:1 and 400:1. yes. They are among the best 17 LCD's. I have one right here and its great.

damnit, i got the nec monitor, and the first one i got i brought it back home and there where alot of picels out in the right top corner that where red, so i returned it for the same thing and the guy tested it out in the back for us for dead picels, he said this one is good, i take it home and it has a big color difference, if i get in for example "my computer" and u look at the the white background the left top has a orangish tint to it and the bottom right has a blueish tinit to it. What in the world should I do? im about to give up on lcd monitors.
