If you're not dead set on Intel, I was just looking at this HP DV7-4060 on Newegg for $640 after rebate. I was just gonna start a thread asking for opinions on it.

So my GF is looking to get a laptop for some gaming and everyday use. Im not too knowledgable about Laptop video cards and the such but which do you think is better based on graphics and cpu performance or all around. Thanks in advance as we are looking to get it asap because of the sale ending on the 12th

both of those look legit. BUT do you or she realize how big that thing is? As long as your aware of it..the first one is 17 inches and the other one is 18.9 inches!!!! It's going to be a pain in the ass to carry around. But as long as your ready for it..

That is a fantastic deal, and it has the 5650 which should handle about any reasonable game quite nicely. As long as a 17" is ok, that is one of the most powerful gaming capable laptops to be had for the price.

don't bother with the 2nd link you posted OP, slower more dated graphics card in the nvidia 230, the 5650 is much better.

You are not going to need more than 4gb RAM especially on a laptop. I suggest this $681 MSI laptop from Mwave. If you want a nice graphics card on the laptop this msi from newegg is a good price at $775 with geforce 325M.
