Koolance recently released an AM4 adapter kit for their relatively new 390A cooler block. The new adapter costs $17 + shipping from them directly. I don't have any 390A blocks, but I DO have 3x 380A blocks. I called Koolance about the possibility of getting an AM4 adapter for the 380A blocks, and they had nothing to say about it. So, after carefully looking at the screenshots, I bit the bullet and ordered the 390A adapter kit. Worst case scenario, I use it as a template to drill my 380A brackets. Best case scenario, it works right out of the box on my 380A. The reality was somewhere in the middle - The 390A adapter kit works just fine on the 380A cooler with just a tiny bit of really simple drilling. Pictures include .
The 390A adapter kit comes with a new backplate and rubber m, 4 new screw holders, and of course the new bracket. The new bracket fits on the 380A perfectly, but there aren't any screw holes to attach it to the block. There are what look like 4 guide holes for studs, but these don't go all the way through the bracket and are a hair too small. Nothing that 1/4" and 1/8" drill bits, some C-clamps, and my trusty drill couldn't handle. Conveniently enough, the end result still works on AM2/3 boards...
