a girl i know got this plextor drive for free in a contest and is selling it to me for $50 shipped, it retails for about $180 at newegg, just wondering if anyone has any experiance with this drive ?

not sure if this is the right forum to ask this though, so please move if need be :)
 
googling for reviews would have told you that this drive is pretty awesome. I personally do not have one, but if I had money to burn I'd get one. $50? insane detail. She doesn't know what she's doing and you shouldn't tell her otherwise.

Nice drive.

Similar specs to the Lite-on 851S DVD+/- 8x I picked up a few weeks ago at OfficeMax for $69 (and that was a great deal).

Now all you have to worry about is media, which probably will cost you more than the drive does :eek:
 
$50 for a 708A is a smokin' hot deal.

okay thanks, i thought it was a good deal, been wanting a DVD burner for a few months now.
