Is a Maximus hero z490 really worth the price tag? Is it worth paying 200$ more than say a msi mpg z490 carbon? What real benefit will come from this extra cost?

So wait don’t buy it if I haven’t yet right? An absolutely miserable return process. You'll feel obliged to traverse this miserable excuse for one because of the money you dropped on the board lol

What would you suggest because I’ve got i7-10 series 3600mhz 16gb ram 980 pro m.2 blah blah blah I’ve spent a lot of money want to have really good system but I haven’t decided on board yet.
Would you go MSI ACE or Carbon then?Let's be honest here, ASUS makes amazing boards. I can't comment on why that board is so expensive, but in my experience all electronics can suffer some faults.
That said, ASUS has one of the worst track records for RMAs. Just a thought to keep in mind should you have an issue.

I’m not mentioning godlike because that’s crazy price.
I have experienced the dead on arrival that asus randomly provides that’s for sure. I don’t know gigabyte but a lot of the reviews on Amazon are bad for aorus board line but that all could be related to Amazon some things you should stick to Best Buy. I had a msi mpg gaming plus it was ugly but it got 9700k 3.6 to 5.0 smoothly.
