intermittant single-computer internet disconnection

It seems that I occasionally lose internet access on my gaming computer. The other computers on my home network don't suffer this problem. I've tried pinging my default gateway and everything seems good (<1 ms, 0% packet loss) but neither FF or IE will load pages, Foobar2k won't connect to web radio stations, POP3 mail doesn't work, etc. Restarting fixes it. I didn't put this in the networking subforum because I'm not sure it's a network problem...

Any ideas?
