i5 4670k , Asus maximus hero O/C

I have a
i5 4670k CPU
ASus maximus hero MOBO
750 hx PSU
samsung 840 evo 500gb SSD
corsair xms3 4x(2gb sticks) RAM
Sapphire Radeon hd 6850 GPU

I am planning to overclock, but I have been getting mixed reviews on Manuel o/c or Auto o/c

Auto would be using Asus AI suite 3

Manual- I have no experience with this and according to other forums I need to adjust more than just the base clock and vcore voltage on this Haswell CPU

Any suggestions on which route to go? Any experience with Asus AI SUITE 3?

I was reading an interesting thread about a quick determination if you have a decent chip. So they recommended booting at 4.5GHz (not sure of cache but I'd say 38x is good) with 1.25vcore and 1.2vcache. Now if you can even get to the Windows logo, that means it's a good chip because chances are it will be stable with just a voltage bump. If it won't even POST, it's a stinker.

I just wanted to add that because it seems logical and will quickly help you see what the chip is capable of. Otherwise that Asus video is legit.

Hey I logged in, then got a bsod with
4.5 ghz, 37 cache, 1.25
vcore, 1.2vcache

I lowered it to 4.4ghz every thing else the same

That's not bad, 4.4 is around the average o/c for i5 4670k I believe.
