The R9 290 has an 8pin and a 6pin plug... my HX620 is modular, and only has two 6pin pcie cables. Am i missing something obvious or won't this power supply work? This thing has been great for like 7-8yrs and still looks like new.

Please help asap thanks!

I did have an 8pin to two 6pin adapter... That mean I need 3 pcie?? My psu only has 2

IMO, you'd be best converting one of the 6-pin to 8-pin jacks with this:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001TK3TJY

The PCI-E cables are usually made to handle more wattage through them.

The other solution is to get a Molex to 6-pin adapter, but those tend to be made for low wattage devices. I remember using one on my GTX 470, and the cable itself got very hot.
