How important is motherboard M.2 cooling?

After long research I decided on an Z370 motherboard from ASROCK.

The only thing I'm not liking is that it doesn't have any M.2 heat sinks like the ASUS boards have.

I read that M.2 runs hot and plan on using like a 960 Evo down the road.

How important is having motherboard m.2 heatsink or cooling like the ASUS boards have? Should I reconsider my purchase and buy an ASUS?

Thanks.

As long as the drive isn't directly below the GPU or something like that and has at least some airflow you shouldn't have a problem. I never felt like I needed to get a heatsink for mine. I touched it while it was running and it was hot to the touch, but not burn your finger hot*

I would definitely use the lower M.2 slot though as it is further away from the graphics card.

*I don't recommend sticking your finger in the case while it is running

If the other motherboard M.2 heatsinks are like mine... it's a cheap piece of... lets call it aluminium (it feels like thin tin) with a thermal pad on it. That's it. No fin's or other surface area multipliers present. I'm kind of wondering if it isn't more of an insulator than a heatsink.
