How futureproof is this PSU?

I have a feeling I'm screwed with the coming of the new connector, but what can I do? I don't really want to spend almost $100 on the 550w fortron that has the new connector (and is the only one I see for fortron, sparkle has one same model number for slightly more). Anything I can do to get futureproof fortron quality without spending $100?

Also, where can I find the converter to go from new ATX to standard ATX?

its even a little more complicated than just the connectors

there is a huge amount of confusion right now, and future proofing is particularly tough
its not being helped by the way the mobo manufacturers, PSU manufactueres and retailers are dealing with it either
