For the past few years or so, I haven't gotten much more out of my hexacore that I was getting from my i7-950.
Not much noticeable change in games since I don't play first person shooters. Until now the biggest improvement was native SATA III for two of my SSDs to RAID with.
Well it turns out my so-called smart TVs have firmware that is real hit or miss when it comes to reading mkv files. Converting a few dozen gigs worth of files from mkv to mp4 in handbrake would have taken a whole lot longer with the old rig.
