Hey guys, what do you suggest for an IPCop setup?

It's going to sit between the internet and my network. Needs to be cheap, quiet/silent, small. It's replacing my current cheesy router so I want as small a footprint as possible. Needs a good ammount of RAM. I'm using URLFilter on it as well, I dunno how demanding that is. Would like to keep it cheap (less thanb $300).

I do have some laptop hard drives if that helps cut the cost.

Hmmm...just had a thought, what about Linux drivers? Is that a problem on these platforms?

If you use spinning storage, you're sacrificing reliability, cost, and noise.

Why not just get an good hardware firewall? You can buy awesome units, used, for way less than $300.

I saw some comments on a wireless router at Newegg. Thought I'd share.
Dunno if IPCop will run on this setup. Might be a nice cheap alternative.
