HDTV / HD HTPC Qs

Yes I'm finally going to be going HD! Well, not immediately after this thread but soon.

First the HTPC... I'll mainly be playing downloaded x264 files and hardware acceleration isn't supported for it, correct? How do these specs look for playing 720p/1080p x264s and possibly blu-ray / hd-dvds later on?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ AM2
ASUS M2A-VM mATX
2x1GB OCZ Gold XTC (taking two sticks out of my desktop machine... don't notice a huge difference between 2 and 4 for what I do)
Sapphire Radeon HD 3450
Silverstone Lascala LC17-B
Corsair CMPSU-450VX

I'll add a LG H20L blu-ray / hd-dvd player later on but they're a bit expensive at the moment.

Next question, I'm looking for an LCD TV in the range o' $1500 CDN after taxes between 30 and 40 inches. What do you think the best one would be? No gaming will be done on it, only media center will be run.

Spec looks fine to me.

I play HD-DVD / Blu-ray on a AM2 3800 X2 and a ATi ASUS HD2400Pro so you should have no problems.
