HD 7950 shipping soon with boost support

This will be nice for people who don't like to manually OC, but want a performance boost.

well go figure..just got the MSI 7950 OC and now they come out with the 7950 super OC less than a week later.

Anandtech repeated the results from PcPer involving the clock speeds constantly changing. It looks like the performance is limited by the unchanged TDP power ceiling so the card spends most of the time at 850 MHz core.

Expected performance increase boosted: %15.

Expected performance increase at new stock clock of 850: %6.

Actual performance increase: AVERAGE OF %6

Conclusion: the boost, it does nothing...at least for this model. The 7970 GHz Edition was far more impressive (not to mention BETTER NAMED).

Put your slider to 925Mhz and you will have the same performance without any issues.

i might down the road. I don't have any games at the moment that would even make it break a sweat on a single 20in monitor.

Although planning on getting Skyrim and a few other games but should still be able to handle that with ease anyway.
