I have 2x Maxtor 200GB 8MB Cache 7200RPM hard drives (at RAID 0 with my Promise TX2000) in the hard drive tray of my Lian-Li PC-65. Right now, the tray is sitting by my computer and it is working fine. WHen I stick it in the computer, it gets to the "Windows XP Professional" screen and then restarts.

Help?

heat will rarely "crash" the HDD, just make it wear faster

install the drive and leave the side off, train a fan on it if neccessary
see if it still crashes, if it does it aint heat

it just doesnt have enough time to "heat" up before the boot
and they are rated to run really hot (though its not good for em)

its more likey that the heat from the HDD added to the box is making the CPU\GPU crash, or some other issue (cables, power ect)

reduce the ambient, increase the airflow (total volume)
andlook for a better thermal solution for the CPU

Both my side panels were off, and I tried dedicated power and unplugging several things. And I have a Promiteia cooling my CPU, I think I'm good in that respect :)

I will dick around a bit more...
