Damn....must hold out for Scorpio....really only want an XB1 for exclusives and UHD Blu-Ray and maybe some connected apps....but don't want it collecting dust when Scorpio comes out.

You have to check the warranty conditions from MS, lots of mfgs require purchase from authorized seller to be eligible for warranty, some don't care and just go off expected sale date for a serial #

For $240 and a 1yr warranty I wouldn't worry too much about it
 
Right on. Thanks for the clarification, I didn't realize console manufacturers were pulling this authorized purchase stunt too.
