GREAT! I believe dvd burner just died on me!

I just bought the friggin' thing and it burned great for about a month. Just about 20 minutes ago I put in a CDR hit burn in Nero, and about a minute in it gave some error about No Tracking or something to that effect (it wasn't a servo error). The lights come on and the drive is recognized.. But no cd's are recognized by the drive.

Now the thing won't recognize ANY disc I put in it.

Does this sound like a broken drive to you guys?

BTW

It's an Optorite DD0405 DVD dual format 8x burner.

I have something similar happen on my second burn with an IOMagic 8X DVD-R/+R
I put the disc in the tray kinda crooked and retracted the tray.
The blank dvd got stuck crooked in the drive door and made a bad grinding noise. DVD was garbage and the burner would give my Servo tracking errors after burning ~2Gb to another disc.

I ended up RMA'ing it with IOMagic after taking screen shots of the error message.

Mine wasn't that bad. I just stuck it in.. normal and everything. After that it just didn't work.. I took it out. Lookinf at it now.

I wonder if I could RMA directly to Optorite, or do I have to send to seller?

Also, if the warranty seal is broken that mean u can't RMA it? Heheh.... No warranty on it anyhow when i bought it.

Oh, thank God! I fixed it!

Gawd Computers are so gay. Weirdest most unexplainable things in the universe.

All I did was unplug the drive, Blow it out with some canned air, and plug back in, Viola! It works.
