i have these http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-ProMe...r_2/102-7589479-4806564?ie=UTF8&s=electronics for a few years now and got to wondering if i i got these http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-53...id=1168318140/ref=sr_11_1/102-7589479-4806564 would it be an upgrade? i'd like the 5500's for connectivity , but they are scarce =$$$.

would like actual comments from previous Klipsch Gmxd owners that have moved on or up from them.

btw they sound great just don't play real 5.1 via analog

should i save for the promedias ?

I just upgraded from the GMX-D 5.1 to the Z-5300e's. I prefer the Z-5300e and X-Fi setup more than the GMX-D and Audigy 2 setup I was using. The difference maker is the analog 5.1. I think the GMX had a more accurate and clean sound (particulary in the bass, I think the Logitech is a little boomy), but I wouldn't go back.

The only reason why I moved to the Logitech's was because I wanted analog 5.1 inputs. I received an X-Fi XtremeMusic for Christmas and it doesn't include the necessary pieces for the coax digital or optical connection needed to get discrete 5.1 sound from the GMX's and there was no analog 5.1 inputs on the GMX. I mostly play racing games that have support for 5.1 sound, which obviously the Creative cards cannot encode for output across the digital outputs.

thank you
im leaning towards the 5300 for the same reason. but i keep reading how the klipsch sound clearer.
damn , to spend or not to spend. lol
