Gigabyte GA-Z170X Gaming 7 and old HDD's

Hi all. This is the last concern I have for my Skylake build going into I feel I need a moment of clarity on. In reading through the manual for the mobo a few times I noticed that the SATA controller only has 2 modes of operation: AHCI and RAID. My storage drive is an old Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB SATA II HDD. With this new mobo, will the drive run properly in AHCI? Thanks in advance for advice and answers? Out!

Yes, you will have no issues. I have 2 x 1TB Seagate and a 2TB Seagate drive that runs without issue. (I have that exact board.) I am also running 1 x 480GB SSD and 2 x 120GB SSD without issues.
