im looking for a decent motherboard to run a 2.4c im getting for a friend of mine .. its not being overclocked or anything .. so i dont need an overclockers mobo .. what motherboards do u guys recommend for under 110

thanks

IS7, the "e" version is $10 less but you lose the raid, and firewire.

Go for the IC7. I also have a 2.4c and this processor overclocks to 3.01 Ghz with no stability issues or posting problems at all.

My Asus P4C800-E is great, Intel gigabit lan, 875 chipset, prescott compatible...I would highly recomend it for any configuration, OC'ing or not.

For non-o/c situations, go with a P4P800 Deluxe, IS7, or even an Intel board. If you want to o/c and reach some sick FSB speed, I'd go for either the P4C800-E or an IC7-Max3.

For a cheap board i'd get the is7 or p4p800. Its up to you to pick what you want but those is my choices.

i already have a 2.4C and an ic7max2 .. and i have it overclocked to 3.6 ...

this computer im building is for a friend of mine who doesnt wanna overclock .. its for his office .. so ill prolly get him a 2.4c and an abit is7 ... thanks

For Northy Cs that you don't O/C, I *still* recommend the P4C800-E Deluxe.

It supports *every* Northwood C (and B) Intel has made for desktops.

It can run *asynchronous* (RAM and CPU FSB at different speeds), which not many motherboards can do.

Onboard Intel Gigabit Ethernet that *just plain works*.

Onboard AC '97 sound (that even works in Linux and Solaris).

Up to *eight* USB 2.0 ports (all of which are high-speed capable).

Up to two FireWire ports.

COM/LPT portws can be disabled in the BIOS (as can all other ports).

Five different flavors of *hardware* RAID (seven if you select by brand).

Onboard temperature *and* fan monitoring.

Internet-based BIOS updating.

Need any more information?

And if you do OC it still is a pretty damn good board.
