if you need the transfer speed or deal with large file loads, it seems worth it.
 
And, as we've known for a long time now, game load times are more affected by the controller used/NAND type. Good for people doing work with large file transfers, yet generally not worth the cost difference for gamers where putting that money into a larger drive would be more beneficial.
 
Always felt steam should partner up with a manufacturer to produce a well cooled, high endurance and low latency range (not necessarily the fastest in MBps, just latency) of 1/2/4TB SSDs.
