How do I know which chipset I have w/o taking the fan off?

chipset? um do you mean what brand or 4200, 4400, 4600? Not sure what you mean.

I've been told that the Geforce4 cards have different brand chips on them. My geforce card doesn't look like other's I've seen. It has a different fan and I'm wondering if it's using different brand chips on it than what is found on other geforece ti4200's.
I want to do a firmware upgrade on the card. I'm guessing I'll need to know the chip manufacturer before I do that. I know that the chip under the fan is a geforce chip but how about the other chips on the card? That varies right?
Have any of you done firmware updates on your vid. cards?
