That's the only beef I have. I'm sure you might be one of the more responsible people, but there's no guarantee that everyone will take care of the product. Hence once it's open, I feel eb games/gamestop can no longer sell it as new.i'll break it down for you how it worked for me. I'm not saying anyone is breaking these rules, but this is how it worked for me.
- You can check out any game regardless of platform, but it cannot be a new release or a game that requires you to register/consume a cdkey before playing such as an MMO.
- If you bring the game back and it has missing content or any type of damage done to the product such as a scratched disc (which the store manager/ assistant manager/ etc would verify) this would completely suspend your privileges indenfinitely. This would also leave a hefty markdown on your raise.
- The game would then be shrink wrapped and placed back with the other new games.
Frys does the same thing will allot of merchandise. However, they stick a little white label (that everyone avoids like the plague) but it's often marked down as well.
For example, for those of you that are OK with the policy how would you feel if I listed a post that I sell new games (shrink wrapped). However, I had access to a shrink wrap machine and I just wrapped them all up. I take great care of my stuff, and I doubt anyone would notice, but would it be right? I don't think so.
