this is stupid... I bought 16GB (4x4) on the forum here a year ago for ~55$.... now that's more than doubled for the same thing, used!

that's what happens when you have two competitive platforms both using DDR4.. now they can charge what ever the fuck they want and there isn't anything the consumer can do about it. but yeah i agree.. DDR4 has gone up 50 dollars in 3 months.

Holy wtf balls with prices now. They going up substantially daily now. If i built a new system today it is likely I would go with just 8gb for now lol.
 
lol yeah, I was debating upgrading my daughter off her old i3 setup, but the cost of DDR4 has me thinking I'll hold off for now or just plop in a used i5 to extend it's use.
 
Makes me glad I bought 16GB of DD4 off a forum member here a while back for $100.00. :smuggrin: Current RAM prices are insane.
 
I'd like to do an upgrade but not at these prices, I'll wait.

I have the money to pay the high prices, but not going to do it.
They can keep it.

Not interested in RAM slower than DDR4 3200 anyway.

Back in June of 2016 I bought the 2x16GB DDR4 3200 G'Skill Ripjaws I'm using now for like $189... that same exact kit now sells for $369. What the bloody fuck?

now that there are 4 platforms(am4/SR4/1151/2066) along with the mobile side that use DDR4 the demand is high while they're still outputting the same supply as they were over a year ago.
