Bump. Nice price on that CPU. Don't have a home for another one or else I'd take if off your hands.

Hi, does the E3C246D4U2-2T have rebar support if we wanted to put an a380 on it? Thanks!

From the block diagram, it looks like other than the first two PCIe x8 slots, everything else (dual 10GBe, PCIE 3.0 x4 NVME, two PCIe 3.0 x4 slots, USB 3.1/3.2 controllers) comes off the PCH/Southbridge, which is limited by a 4Gbytes/sec DMI 3.0 link to the CPU.

I assume you haven't seen any data transfer slowdowns over 10GBe, etc. in your real-world usage?

The 10 Gbe would be about 1.25GB theoretical, still within DMI max. The boot drive takes minimal bandwidth given for a NAS, it's mostly just system logs.

You can probably run 24 spinning rust per x8 using an HBA connected to an expander and you wouldn't experience any slowdowns.

With truenas core max real world I have seen on this board with 4x 16tb drives in a raidz1 was about 650Mb/s across the wire to a 6x8tb raidz1 doing a zfs send. On average I was seeing closer to 500Mb/s; OS was installed on one of the NVME slots; drives were on the built in sata controller. It did 21tb overnight so it was good for me.
