Free Channels using a new Sony XBR 34" Wega?

I'm trying to find out if everyone else gets all digital channels for free.
To make a long story short, my co-worker gets all the digital channels for free ever since he plugged in his new sony xbr. He doesn't get the digital menu fuctions but every channel available via time warner is viewable.

Generally there will be at least some free digital programming even if you only have analog service.

Sounds like his cable line is unfiltered.....If he lives in a apartment complex, maybe his apartment offers free cable like my old one...
