I'm still running an AXP 2200+ with 512MB of ram and need something better for my day to day usage. I game, but I don't need the latest and greatest graphics, I encode a lot, i download a lot and i TRY to multi task a lot. My last build was 4 years ago and things were much different. My biggest concerns are my mobo and RAM selections. Ive heard good things about the mobo but have never owned a Gigabyte board, and i've never seen much about a-data other than on newegg. Also are those memory timings good? Plan to mildly over clock this sucker.

Nice build. Gigabyte boards are great, and the DS3 is one of the best C2D P965 boards. A-Data branded ram is new to the market, but not the industry. They're one of the largest memory manufacturers in the world (all memory, not just DRAM). However, the max OC of the E4300 is around 3Ghz, so you don't really need DDR2-800. 5-5-5-15 @ DDR2-800 is average. You could drop down to DDR2-667, with timings on the 4-4-4-12 range, since 9 * 333 = 3.0Ghz. You might want to pickup an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro from ewiz.com for only $20. Also, make sure you get a SATA DVD burner.
