Hello,
I need mobo Matx to overclock e2160 to 3ghz (want to make it on box cooler) and play Counter Strike: Source on integrated graphic card (im using LCD 1440x900 via vga).
In computer shop near my home there is
Abit Fatal1ty f-i90HD for 132$ with 3 year shop warranty
Gigabyte Ga-g33m-ds2r for 128$ with 2 year warranty
What should i buy ?

X1250 on intel is better then intel 3100 ?

What is better 2x1gb Corsair xms2 667 for 60$ or 2x1gb Kingston Value for 48$ ?

Why are you upgrading the motherboard? What are you hoping to achieve by overclocking to 3.0Ghz, yet continue to use integrated graphics? You are not CPU limited right now. Your money would be better spent on an X1950 or a Geforce 7900. If you are absolutely set in stone get the Gigabyte DS2R. The Abit likes to die on people & I am not sure if they got adjustable memory ratios on it.

But again, I would strongly advise you just buy a decent video card, this will make a much bigger impact on your gaming performance.

X1250 vs X3100 is probably similar, they are both terrible.

Is the Kingston ValueRAM 800Mhz? I would go for the Kingston anyways as you don't need low latency, just so long as it hits 800Mhz you should have enough head room.

Also any reason you can't get these online?

Edit: Perhaps I misread, do you have a core2 mobo already? I am not sure what "want to make it on box cooler" means either...

No no no no. At this moment i dont have any Core2duo board, its for my new SFF build (xqpack 2). I know that separate graphic card is a lot better but i want buy "real card" - 8800gt probably in january or february.

Now for playing new games i have xbox360 so i dont need strong GPU for PC.
What memory multiplier is in ds2r for core2duo 800mhz ? 2.5x or 3.3x ?

3.33x maximum for all FSB800 processors.
4.00x min.

If you want the DS2R, I'd save up a bit more money and sink it into an E6550/E6750. Assuming you don't have the processor yet.

If you're American (hard to tell by the English), RAM like G.Skill's PC2-6400-CL5D-2GBNQ easily take the cake for low price/chip performance. (Last time I checked.) Unless you buy Ballistix, that is. (Which would be necessary for a FSB800 processor).

Ok. 3.33 is to high IMO comparing to 1:1. E6550 should be good but its more then 2x price with almost the same performance. Im not american, im from east europe and we have only Kingmax, Kingston, Corsair, Patriot and Geil. So i will buy Abit and wait for same new boards like EVGA. Thanks for help !

Well I hate to recommend the Abit Fatal1ty, but it looks like your best choice in your situation: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3072&p=14

Onboard video is vastly superior and then you have the RAM issue with the DS2R.

...but if you can get some 800MHz RAM and are already planning to buy the 8800GT, the DS2R is a much better choice. Frankly the Fatal1ty is not a very good overclocker and the reliability is poor. The ASUS P5K-VM is another good choice and would eliminate the RAM issue.

If you are going to lean on the onboard video the Abit is the better choice.

It developed a bad rep for spontaneously dying but as long as the shop is standing behind it with a 3 yr warranty its worth it.

Now my plan is simply:
1.Buy Fatal1ty
2.Test it
3.If everything good i will stay with it
4.If everything run like shit i will sell it on Ebay and get some ds2r

800mhz rams is no problem but:
on abit 330x9=3ghz with no problem - ram 667
on gigabyte it must be 330x3.33=1100mhz!!!

The DS2 have bios F4a which have 1:1 with 1066/1333fsb chips. If you have 800fsb memory then get the cheapest 1066fsb chip you can find with a 8X multiplier as you will hit 3200ghz with 8 x 400. . .

The DS2R wont run CS:S on 1440x900.

I would try it out for you but CS:S wont run, at all... Which is weird because it is the same XP install I had on my P35-DS3R. Anyway CS1.6 gets 50FPS in lowest settings (640x480, 16-bit) so your hopes of getting CS:S on your resolution and even minimum settings is not going to happen. I wouldn't say the Abit is any better though.

Be aware the F-I90HD has a higher than normal death rate. I dont recommend it. It has a nasty habit of dying wether you OC or not.

I have one question. Is this possibly to overclock athlon x2 4400+ (11,5x200) to run as fast as Dual core@3ghz on abit AN-M2 HD ? Board like abit nf-M2 or Biostar tforce 6100 are not available.

Expensive memory needed with FSB800 processors as bios do not support 1:1 ratio. .
Really?? I didn't know that. So PC6400 with a FSB800 CPU is a no-go? I have a non booting system here. What if I plug in a FSB800 CPU and PC6400, will the system boot?

Wrong thread, Monn, and off topic but short answer is that it is possible if your 4400+ is a good chip and you have all the right cooling needs. From what I have heard the mobo does allow for it. Also from what I have heard the Biostar is the best AMD mATX board now and your best bet is to try and find it if possible. I suggest starting a seperate thread for any questions you have about it.

Yup FSB800 CPU's only get 3.33 and 4.0.
From BIOS F4.1 onwards FSB1066/1333 get 1.0 to use.
With my aXeRAM I can manage max 2.8GHz with the RAM at 1150mhz.

Poor E2140 needs a new home :(
