(I did a search and nothing came up, so I guess nobody has posted about it here?)

I made a couple videos too, if you need some ideas :) (100 level challenge)

And when you get bored... here are some other cool TD games:

Stop the viruses from attacking your server!

Onslaught - cool combos - it seems easy at first, but it gets really difficult! This one has a large following too:

I like this one a lot more as well. 100 challenge is a bitch, I can't get past about 77.

It was mentioned and linked to in the Circle Tower Defense thread, so no foul, but yeah, it's a damn hard game.

I call it Running the Gauntlet

Nice map :)

Also, keep in mind that one level 5 pellet is equal to at least FIVE level 4 pellet towers (due to range increase) so maximizing the number of lvl 5 towers is usually better than upgrading a lot of towers at the same time.

I'm totally addicted to the first one (Desktop TD). I have this GIANT urge to play at work, but keep resisting!

Ah, come on...this is what we do at work. I usually play one game of these a day at work, usually the 100 challenge. For some reason the first 25-30 levels just jump right by then all of a sudden I lose it. :(

I will find the way to beat 100, if it takes we a whole work day. :D

Any more tower defense games out there? These are pretty fun, although Desktop TD is my favorite still.

The virus one seemed blah, and the onslaught one was WAAY too slow in the beginning, and then it reaches a point where the enemies get MUCH harder all of a sudden, and your income effectively stops.

The difficulty acceleration curve on the virus one is way too high, imo. I just kept hitting the wall. Tried mixing up the different towers but could never get enough cash to get past the $200 towers. Kept getting my ass handed to me every time I tried to save up the cash.

Go for nuke + poison combo towers - remember, the FIRST tower listed in the combo is the one that fires - so you must make sure that's the only one in the group you upgrade the range on or else the wrong combo will fire - and it will activate the 8 sec cooldown on the other towers. And you can use an exchange tower to lower the range on the other towers in your combo as well! (-range, +damage exchange tower)

Nuke towers do like 1 billion damage - 1000x more than any other tower... I think they are going to rebalance that in the future since you basically need Nukes to get to lvl 300-400+

I've beat it on normal and lvl 49 on Hard so far. You just have to build more towers and upgrade them together for the harder levels. For Hard you need 4 turrets and upgrade them together until you can afford flamethrowers - and then place them strategically so they shoot down a row for as long as possible to maximize splash damage.

At lvl 40 or so, convert to the 1600 splash tower.

And have a few ice towers to help clump the creeps -

But yeah, the virus one is pretty different than most TD games. I play it for the cool techno beats :D
