New to me, I might've missed it but I been getting free Epics since GTA5 years ago I think, might been a gap I missed some during the lockdowns, not sure tho.

I tried getting mine to work from the non Spacer's choice version and it wouldn't work, but there are some tutorials on YT that explain how to.
I used the Steam version.
 
Epic delivered a nice freebie on Christmas Day!

I was expecting them to pull another Death Stranding and give away the original base version and not the newer Director’s Cut

maybe they’ll give away Death Stranding Director’s Cut during these 17 days as well

Too bad I already have it on Steam. Is Death Stranding any good? I didn't want to try it unless I had the Director's Cut, but I've been getting curious about it lately.

I haven’t bought Death Stranding yet but it sounds like a typical Kojima game…the Director’s Cut seems much improved as it eliminates a lot of the tedious aspects of the game

I would pick it up if it was a free giveaway

I have it on Epic from when they gave it away, I want to try it out but I'm one of those people that NEEDS to have ALL of the content or I keep feeling I'm missing something vital to the gameplay.
 
The Outer Worlds is an interesting offer. Maybe I can pretend I bought it instead of Starfield, and it'll help me nurse my financial wound.

I've been impressed so far with it, and the humour has made me chuckle more than once. However, that was after fighting with it to work. It kept crashing out in unrepeatable ways, from during the opening cinematic to during character creation to just after starting the gameplay. I went through the usual troubleshooting steps, turns out that it just doesn't play well at 4K for me. It works fine in a lower resolution, but if I change it to 4K it crashes. It's irritating.
 
Strange, I wonder if it's the Spacer's Choice version?
I've only played the OG and have never had that problem, are you OC'ed in any way?

I got my standard version GoG to Steam Spacer's Choice Edition saves to move over. There was no real issue. IIRC all you have to do is start a new game in the SCE then save the game. Then quit and copy the save directories over. Looking over my directories, in <user directory>/Saved Games/The Outer World/ is the save game directory for the GoG standard version. And the SCE is in the <user directory>/Saved Games/The Outer Worlds Spacers Choice/<long number>/ It's that <long number> subdirectory that needs to be created first by running the SCE initially by saving the game. After that you can delete all the subfolders in there and copy over the old save game subdirectories there.

Yep, Spacer's Choice Edition.

I've done the usual, restart, driver update, clean boot, delete shader cache, etc.

I've tried the unusual as well: FSR, no FSR, Fullscreen/Borderless fullscreen/fullscreen, I've even downloaded (and verified the changes as far as I can) that an Engine.ini mod can do (it helps reduce stutter and the game looks better,) turned HDR off, and then back on, but the crashes remain. The best I can get is windowed 3200 x 1800 (which is 1080p * 1.667). 3200 x 2000 gives me a headache.

i7-6700 non-K, XFX RX 6800 XT Merc 319 underclocked and undervolted (defaults on GPU makes no difference,) 64GB RAM, Windows 10, version 10.0.19045.3803. I updated to the latest 23.12.1 AMD drivers during my troubleshooting. Connected to a 43" Samsung QN90B via HDMI with FreeSync Premium Pro (firmware 1602.)

Like, what the flip? lol

Have you tried it without FS?
Tried it with Vsync or a frame limiter?
