Drivers getting wiped out on reboots

Not sure why this is happening - this is a new build, with a Gigabyte MB. The drivers for the MB have already been installed. However, I needed to install new drivers for my DVD lightscribe in order for it to be able to write, and also printer drivers for the printer to be recogized. After drivers are innstalled, hardware works fine. After a reboot, the drivers seem to be erased - I can reinstall them to get the hardware working, but they get erased every reboot. I am running Win XP SP2. Anyone have any ideas what may be happening?:confused:
 
I think I found the problem - the win XP settings were over-writing any driver changes I made. I was afraid I had a hardware problem since this is a new build.
