Does anybody know of a definitive review of dual GTX680 4GB SLI vs 780(s)???

I've been waffling on buying a 780 but I already have a 680 FTW 4GB card.
So instead of wondering what to do, I decided to go the safe route and find another 680 FTW 4GB card for $400 delivered. (surprisingly they are disappearing from shelves and are slowly becoming scarce)

I've been wondering, I can't seem to find performance numbers on 4GB GTX680s anywhere.
Does anybody know of a great site that pits everything together?
The additional texture RAM does help the 680 a lot with multi-monitor, and that's what I'm gonna be using it for.

Thanks [H] community! :D

1920 X 1080 X 6 monitors.

Thanks for the link.
I was looking for reviews and nice charts and graphs.
I've read the forum posts, but it's amazing how much little coverage the 4GB 680s have gotten.
As it stands 3X monitors with 1080p run great, but I'm adding more monitors for digital editing work, etc.

If you are just looking to use it for desktop space, then you should be good with the 2 680s. For surround gaming, I don't see how 2 680s can span 6 monitors at 11520x1080. I used 1 690GTX with (3) 2560x1440 monitors and it handled it just fine with desktop applications and digital media. It only had issues when I started trying to use an application or game at >5120x1440

Ya, that's what I'm seeing right about now when I attempt any 1080p X 3 gaming.
Using the PC for production, video editing, and having multiple applications open at once I start to encounter some lag and slowness to refresh fast frame rate video.
It's like you have this UBER-POWERFUL 6-core intel processor, and it's not able to be utilized due to you running out of video memory or GPU power due to multiple monitors.

I do game but primarily on one monitor at 1920 X 1080 to a HDMI wireless transmitter that goes to my front room 70" TV.
I'm pretty much going to stay there until 4K gets cheaper and things mature a bit gaming wise.

Thanks for the feedback people :)

You wont see that many reviews of DLI 680/770 against 780 because the resolutions were the 4GB of memory matters are beyond the GPU power of SLI 680 anyway.

3x770 vs 2x780 on the other hand is little bit more interesting, because raw GPU power favors the tri-sli, but added CPU overhead from 3 GPUs make it a hit or miss. compare 770 and 780 numbers here

Metro 2033 and Crysis 3 @ 3x1080p high settings seems to be memory limited using 2GB 770s,
Hitman and Metro LL do not scale beyond 2 GPUs,
On all the other games 3x2GB 770 > 2x3GB 780.

My understanding is: 4GB 680/770 only makes sense if you are shooting for tri-sli in games like metro 2033 and Crysis, Otherwise the 2GB versions can do the job just as well for less money.

WOW thanks for the insight.
I like to mod and skin my games.
So additional texture ram should be nice to have on board for something like Skyrim with tons of skins.
Either which way, I received my new card and I'll be putting her in my box with her brother tomorrow.
I'm just excited to just have two 680s for a change and I look forward to messing with seeing the increase in power across the board.
Thanks!
