Do any 27"+ IPS have finer pixel pitch than .233?

I'm interesting in getting an IPS 2560x1440-1600 display for PC and PS3 gaming. My main concern is getting a display with crisp PQ and fine pixel density (which is why I decided against buying a HDTV). I just had lasik surgery so small text does not bother me.

Most monitors I've looked at buying have a pixel pitch of .250+ while the U2711 has a pitch of .233! I haven't followed flat panel displays lately, but are there any IPS displays available with even better pitch than the U2711 or is my next display 100% going to be the 2711? :D

The only one I know of is the Barco Coronis Color Fusion 6MP, it has a Pixel Pitch of 0.1995 mm. I'm not 100% sure if it has been discontinued.

Well, Coronis displays are mainly for medical purposes, no? After skimming the most recent threads, seems like the U2711 or NEC MultiSync PA271W are my best bet!

Quoting a post I've made in other threads:

Lower pixels per inch (ppi) = larger text:

27" 1920x1080 = 81.6 ppi
27" 1920x1200 = 83.9 ppi
19" 1280x1024 = 86.3 ppi
25.5" 1920x1200 = 87.1 ppi
17" 1280x800 = 88.8 ppi
19" 1440x900 = 89.4 ppi
22" 1680x1050 = 90.1 ppi
20" 1600x900 = 91.8 ppi
24" 1920x1080 = 91.8 ppi
24" 1920x1200 = 94.3 ppi
20.1" 1680x1050 = 98.4 ppi
30" 2560x1600 = 101.0 ppi
27" 2560x1440 = 108.8 ppi

Pixel Size Calculator

The U2711 and PA271W do top the list of easily available consumer models for pixel density.

ZR22w (21.5" at 1920 x 1080) is not quite as tight as the U2711, but close.

Ashok0,

If you haven't already, you might want to go to your local Apple store and check out the 27" iMac to see what 27" 2560x1440 looks like. I know you said small pixel pitch isn't a problem, but have you seen how small text is at 0.233? Obviously it's not unbearable as many here love the Dell 2711, but I would guess this pixel size is right at or beyond the limit of most people's comfort level. Do you really want smaller than that? Not that there's an affordable option to do so anyway, but I think pixel pitch is getting too small as it is without pushing it further.

Wow, I'm always looking for something with a bigger pixel. My graphics card doesn't have to work as hard, I get better frame rates and I can actually read text. But to each their own. (Hugs my Dell 2209WA)
